The Tavern bar re-opened in 2007 under new ownership and management
The bar underwent a facelift to make it more modern and appealing to the locals and others from further afield. The interior was redecorated and the exterior repainted and modernised and new signaage introduced.
A heated smoking area was added to the rear and a covered area to the front allowing smokers to enjoy their cigarettes in comfort. State of the art plasma screens and a big screen where introduced to the bar along with a touch screen jukebox with all the up to date chart hits added to it weekly.
Sport also plays a major part in the bar with mid ulster division team Killicomaine Blues meeting weekly every Saturday in it. It also hosts two pool teams which meet on alternative weeks in it on Thursday evenings along with a dart team which meets every friday evening.
The local Northern Ireland Supporters club also meets regularly in the bar and buses leave regularly from it to both Northern Ireland and Portadown matches.
